The Assam State School Education Board (ASSEB) is formed under the Assam State School Education Board Act, 2024, by merging the Board of Secondary Education, Assam (SEBA) and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).
The ASSEB came in to existence from 13th Sep 2024, with the taking of oath by Sri R. C. Jain, IAS (Retd.), Chairman, ASSEB, Sri Rukma Gohain Baruah, Vice-Chairman, ASSEB, Division - II and other members. Accordingly Board of Secondary Education (SEBA) is now known as Assam State School Education Board, Division - I and Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) is now known as Division - II.
